Urgent Member Notification for Social Security and Veterans Benefits Recipients

(2 Minute Read) — This is an urgent member notification for anyone who receives federal payments, including Social Security and Veterans benefits.

Effective September 30, 2025, the U.S. Treasury will no longer issue checks for these payments. Therefore, federal payment recipients must enroll in direct deposit to receive these benefits.

If you do not enroll in direct deposit for your federal payments, you will experience a delay in receiving your benefits.

If you already receive your benefits via direct deposit, NO ACTION IS NEEDED.

You must set up direct deposit through the U.S. Treasury’s GoDirect website. To complete this enrollment, you’ll need the following:

• Your Social Security Number
• Information from your most recent benefits check (refer to image)
• Unitus’ routing number: 323075699
• Your Unitus direct deposit number (found in Digital Banking)

To find your Unitus direct deposit number (different than the number at the bottom of your check and different than your account number):

• Log in to Digital Banking
• From the Dashboard, select the account in which you’d like your federal payment deposited^*
• Click/Tap “Show Details”
• Find the number in the field named “Account Number for Electronic Transfers, Direct Deposit, and other ACH Transactions”

You must complete direct deposit enrollment before September 30, 2025, to avoid a delay in receiving your federal payments. You can reach the U.S. Treasury’s Electronic Payment Solution Center at 1-877-874-6347, Monday – Friday from 6:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
