Community Spotlight – September 2026

(2 Minute Read) — Looking to buy a home? Join us Sept. 12 at the 27th Annual Latino Home Fair in Portland. The free homebuyer education sessions are open to families and include lunch.

El Grito Portland Sept. 15 to 16 at the Moda Center Commons. It is one of the region’s largest Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations, bringing people together through food, music, cultural performances, and community resources. 

Unitus is a sponsor of the20th anniversary of the Latin American Film Festival at Hollywood Theatre in Portland. The festival kicks off Sept. 23 and runs into November.

El Festival de Mariachi on Sunday, Sept. 27, at the new Hillsboro Ballpark.

This free community event will feature wonderful music, food, vendors, and cultural celebration. I hope many of you can attend and enjoy the day with family, friends, and neighbors. Here’s the schedule of performances: 

12:00 p.m. – Mariachi Tradición 

1:00 p.m. – Dina y los Rumberos 

2:00 p.m. – Mariachi Mexico en la Piel + Ballet Folkórico México en la Sangre 

3:00 p.m. – Grupo Mparable 

4:00 p.m. – Gemanereida + Casa de la Cultura Tlanese 

5:00 p.m. – Mariachi Luz de Oro + Special Grand Finale
