2026 Unitus Scholarship Recipients

(3 Minute Read) — Investing in people is one way we live our commitment to improving lives in the communities we serve. This year, Unitus Community Credit Union awarded $27,000 in scholarships to nine outstanding students, with each recipient receiving a $3,000 scholarship to help with tuition, textbooks, and other educational expenses.

Since launching the scholarship program in 2004, Unitus has awarded more than $341,000 in scholarships to help students pursue their academic and professional goals. This year’s recipients are studying a wide range of disciplines, including: economics, kinesiology, nursing, sociology, architecture, biology, music, and humanitarian studies.

Among this year’s recipients is Mekhi G., who received the Barbara Leonard Memorial Scholarship, honoring the legacy of former Unitus Board Chair Barbara Leonard and her lifelong commitment to equity, inclusion, and educational opportunity.
