When you receive a replacement Unitus Visa card, you may need to update your Digital Wallet with your new card information.

Please call us immediately at 1.800.452.0900, opt. 1, during regular business hours Monday – Friday 7:25 AM – 6:05 PM or Saturday 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM. (You may also use our automated system to block your card by pressing opt. 5).  We will close your card so that no more purchases can be made.

Yes, you do not need to pay to use the technology; however, like all transactions, merchants may still charge a credit card processing fee.

Contactless payments are transactions that use chip-based technology and require no physical connection between the payment device (a card or mobile device) and the physical merchant terminal.

Devices vary, but typically you just need to hold the phone up to the contactless pay device. Your phone will prompt you to unlock your phone (either with password, personal PIN, or biometric fingerprint).

There are many digital or mobile wallets to choose from.  When you’re comparing features, be sure to check which mobile device is required and which merchants accept the wallet.  Most allow you to use your Unitus Community Credit Union card as your default to easily make payments.

No, it’s simply a convenient option for quick, easy and secure payments.  Use it at a number of merchants and for many in-app purchases.

Contacted by a merchant, or paid during a time that a major retailer announced a security breach?  Peace of mind is a phone call away – you can always check with Unitus to find out which method you used to pay, digital or traditional.  Please call 1.800.452.0900, opt. 1, Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM.  Rest assured, when you pay using digital payments, your card info is not stored or transferred to the merchant so your Unitus card data is protected.  If you want to update your card or request a new device code, the process is simple – in fact, it’s easier than if you had paid the traditional way.  Just delete your card from your payment app.  Then, add the card back to the payment app as if you were doing it for the first time.  The digital code associated with your card has been deleted and a new one assigned.

You can add your card in a few easy steps.  The process for adding a card is a little different between your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and MacBook Pro with Touch ID.

iPhone*:

  1. Open Wallet and tap the plus sign.
  2. Position your card in the camera frame to automatically enter your card information. You can edit the information before saving should it capture incorrectly. Enter the security code, which can be found on the back of your card.

iPad*:

  1. Go into Settings and tap Wallet & Apple Pay.
  2. Tap Add Credit or Debit Card.
  3. Position your card in the camera frame to automatically enter your card information. You can edit the information before saving should it capture incorrectly. Enter the security code, which can be found on the back of your card.

Apple Watch*:

  1. Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone 5 or 6 (must be running iOS 8.2 or higher) and tap select Wallet & Apple Pay.
  2. Tap Add Credit or Debit Card.
  3. Position your card in the camera on your iPhone to automatically enter your card information. Enter the security code, which can be found on the back of your card.

MacBook Pro with Touch ID*:

  1. Go to System Preferences > Wallet & Apple Pay
  2. Click +Add.
  3. Follow the steps to add a new card. (If you’re asked to add the card that you use with iTunes, just enter its security code.)
  4. Click Next.

If requested, follow additional steps to verify your card.  After you confirm your Unitus card has been added to your eligible device, you’re ready to use it in Apple Pay.

*For a list of compatible Apple Pay devices and setup instructions go to www.apple.com/apple-pay.

All your payment cards stored in Microsoft Wallet are assigned a device account number.  This number is used instead of your actual card number when you make a purchase with Microsoft Wallet, so that your payment information isn’t shared with the merchant.

If you ever need to make a return, you might have to provide the last 4 digits of your device account number.  The device account number can be found by selecting the card in Microsoft Wallet and tapping to go to the about screen.
