One of our core values is to give back—socially and economically—to the communities we serve.
Giving Back to the Community
Where We Focus Our Efforts
At Unitus, we are passionate about giving back to our local communities in which we operate. With locations across Oregon and in SW Washington, we are proud to be actively engaged in all our branch communities through fundraising, volunteering, and community partnerships with local non-profits. We focus our efforts towards working with organizations that positively shape financial education and health and human services. Our commitment to community exemplifies one of the principles that credit unions were founded upon — People Helping People.
Some of the organizations we partner with include:
Unitus is proud to take part in one of Portland’s most beloved traditions as the presenting sponsor of the Rose Festival Court. One of the unique opportunities associated with our sponsorship is a mentor program where we pair strong business women in the Portland area with each Princess.
Dream Come True Program
Unitus Community Credit Union and Oregon State have partnered to create the “Dream Come True” Program. The program’s goal is to provide an unforgettable, positive experience to individuals 8th grade age or younger (per NCAA regulations) who’ve battled a severe illness. New this year, dreams will be fulfilled for both Beaver football and basketball games of the 2017-2018 season.
Making a Difference
Throughout the year Unitus employees collectively volunteer over 1,300 hours each year participating in various community events that enrich the lives of others, including: building homes, mentoring at risk youth, making meals for shelters, and assisting at holiday toy drives.
“We expect financial institutions to care about people with money, but Unitus really cares about everyone in the community. SnowCap is thankful that Unitus is a community building credit union, making things better for all of us.”
