Message to Our Members – July 2026
(2 Minute Read) — As we reach the midpoint of the year, I want to share an update on the progress we’re making together, and the values that continue to guide every step forward.
At Unitus Community Credit Union, our purpose has always been rooted in “people helping people.” That means showing up for our members, supporting our communities, and making responsible decisions that strengthen the financial well-being of those we serve today while helping build a more sustainable future for tomorrow.
Social Responsibility Commitments
We are now halfway through our three-year Social Responsibility Commitments, and I’m proud to report meaningful progress across each area:
- $22 million (44 percent of our $50 million goal) in loans to first-time homebuyers
- $64.6 million (129 percent of our $50 million goal) in green auto loans
- $5.1 million (102 percent of our $5 million goal) in small business loans
- 4,613 members (46 percent of our goal of helping 10,000 members achieve $400) in emergency savings
- 2,300 volunteer hours (66 percent of our 3,500-hour goal) in service to our communities
These results are more than numbers. They represent members purchasing their first homes, families choosing more sustainable transportation, entrepreneurs pursuing their dreams, and neighbors benefiting from the time and care our employees give back. They reflect our belief that financial services should create opportunity, strengthen communities, and help people move forward with confidence. Learn more and track our progress.
Awards and Recognition
I’m also pleased to share that this work is being recognized beyond our local communities.
Forbes recently named Unitus the second-best credit union in Oregon, marking the second year in a row we’ve received this recognition. The ranking was informed by interviews with credit union members and publicly-available reviews. We are grateful for this honor because it reflects the trust our members place in us.
We also have exciting news from Woodburn, where our branch has achieved LEED Certification. This milestone demonstrates our ongoing commitment to sustainability, energy efficiency, and creating healthier spaces for members, employees, and the community.
Whether we are helping a member save for the future, supporting a local business, volunteering in the community, or investing in more sustainable spaces, our focus remains the same: to serve with integrity, care, and purpose.
Thank you for being part of Unitus. Your membership strengthens our work and helps us continue building a future where people and communities can thrive.
