2019 is going to be a very exciting year for our members and our credit union. Here are a few things coming up soon that we’re excited about.
Opening a branch in Gresham this spring
Gresham is the fourth largest city in Oregon. It’s a bustling area with deep cultural and economic roots, and we’re thrilled to be part of the community in East County. This is the fourth Unitus branch to open in the last 24 months, reflecting the strength of our membership. We hope you will visit the branch when it opens in March. We especially hope you will join us for the Grand Opening in April! Watch this space for more information about the Grand Opening!
Sponsoring the inaugural Lilac Run
The City of Gresham is hosting the first-ever Lilac Run this April. Starting and ending at Gresham City Hall, the run will feature the hidden gems of Gresham such as Wy’ East Way, the Gresham-Fairview Trail, the Spring Water Corridor, and the Gresham Butte Saddle Trail. It includes a 5K, 10K, a half marathon, and a free “Little Lilac 1K” run for kids.
The run is for a good cause. All racing fees and donations will support Family of Friends Mentoring. They’re a Gresham nonprofit that helps provide children and families access to programs to help them live healthy, meaningful and productive lives. When you sign up for the race, you’ll get more than a good workout. You’ll help this great local organization serve more East County kids than ever before!
Giving first time homebuyers a better chance to own a home
Owning a home is one of the best investments you can make in your family’s future. Unfortunately, many young professionals today have to delay their family goals because they have other expenses or a lack of savings. Our First Time Homebuyer program aims to give people a better chance to own a home so they can achieve their personal and family goals.
The program offers qualified homebuyers the chance to own a home with a $0* down payment. What’s more, homebuyers won’t have to pay any Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI). Many people get stuck renting and financing someone else’s dream. This program can help them break out of the renting cycle. If anyone comes to mind, let them know there’s a better way forward for them.
Upgrading Unitus’ digital member experience
At Unitus, our branch and phone staff work hard to provide an uncommonly helpful experience for our members. Of course, many of us prefer to handle our banking on the go. Available for download today, our mobile app gives you the convenience of a branch in your pocket (download it on Android or on iPhone). Later this year, you’ll see upgrades to both our mobile app and our online banking experience. Stay tuned for more on the improved digital experience!
