Gayle Evans, Unitus Chief of Human Resources, Joins Board of Trustees at Western Oregon University

Portland, Ore., January 22, 2018 – Western Oregon University has welcomed Gayle Evans, Chief Human Resources Officer at Unitus Community Credit Union, to their Board of Trustees.

She began her work at the Board’s first quarterly meeting January 17, 2018. She will be serving a partial term through June 30 of 2018 and then be up for reappointment to a second term ending June 30, 2022.

“It is a great honor to be appointed by the Governor for this position,” said Evans. “Western Oregon University demonstrates an outstanding level of commitment to its students, many of whom are first-generation college students from diverse backgrounds.”

Evans, who carries a Master’s Degree in Management and Organizational Leadership from Warner Pacific College, has spent more than 25 years as a leader in the Healthcare and Financial Services industries. She joined Unitus as Vice President of Human Resources in 2007 and currently serves the credit union as Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer.

Evans, also passionate about improving the health of Oregonians, adds this to her Governor-appointed memberships on the Board of Directors of the Oregon Patient Safety Commission and the State of Oregon Task Force on Resolution of Adverse Healthcare Incidents. Evans chaired Oregon Business Association’s Health Policy Committee from 2008 – 2017.
