All your payment cards stored in Microsoft Wallet are assigned a device account number. This number is used instead of your actual card number when you make a purchase with Microsoft Wallet, so that your payment information isn’t shared with the merchant.
If you ever need to make a return, you might have to provide the last 4 digits of your device account number. The device account number can be found by selecting the card in Microsoft Wallet and tapping to go to the about screen.
Yes. Absolutely, we encourage our members to set their Unitus Platinum Visa Card as the default card to maximize rewards points and benefits. Members enjoy the same rewards benefits when using that card in Microsoft Wallet.
It depends on the merchant. In some cases you may need to sign a receipt or enter your ATM PIN – just as you would with your plastic Unitus Visa card. If asked to verify the last four digits of your card number when making a purchase, instead provide the last four digits of the device account number. The device account number can be found by selecting the card in Microsoft Wallet and tapping the “i” icon to go to the about screen.
When you are ready to pay:
- Hold your locked device near the contactless payment terminal and the unlock screen will display, or hold your unlocked device near the contactless terminal and you will be prompted to enter your PIN.
- Enter your PIN, if the device is not already unlocked.
- Hold your device near the terminal again to pay.
- You will receive confirmation on your device that the transaction was completed.
Microsoft Wallet allows members to enjoy the benefits of their Unitus debit and credit cards with their Windows phone. The wallet allows members to keep their payment cards, rewards and membership cards all in one place, so the cards available when and where needed. It’s easy, convenient, and secure.
Add your Unitus card to Microsoft Wallet in a few easy steps:
- Open the Microsoft Wallet app and touch the plus sign in the bottom right corner of your screen.
- Tap credit or debit card, and follow the instructions.
If your card successfully loads and activates, no further steps are required. If further verification is required, call the number that appears on the screen.
To return something you bought in-store with Microsoft Wallet you will need your store receipt, just like you would for any other purchase. If the merchant asks you to swipe your card, you can credit the card you used to pay within the Microsoft Wallet app by selecting the same card and holding your device to the contactless payment terminal.
For some returns, you might have to provide the last 4 digits of your device account number. The device account number can be found by selecting the card in Microsoft Wallet and tapping the “i” icon to go to the about screen.
Depending on the return and refund policies of the store, it may take several days for the return transaction to appear on your Unitus Visa card statement. We recommend keeping your receipt until the return posts to your account.
The first card you add to Microsoft Wallet will be the default payment card. To change your default card:
Open the Microsoft Wallet app. Tap to select the Unitus Visa card you want to use as your default card. Once selected, tap “Set as my tap to pay card.”
Whenever your device is unlocked, it could be used to make purchases with Microsoft Wallet.
If you lose your Microsoft Wallet-enabled Windows device, please call Unitus at 1.800.452.0900, opt. 1, Monday – Friday 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM to suspend/remove your Unitus Visa cards which had been added to the device. Please call 1.888.241.7054 opt. 3 after hours.
Since Microsoft Wallet doesn’t store your plastic card details on your device, anyone who finds or steals your device won’t be able to access that information, even if it’s unlocked.
When you suspend or remove your cards in Microsoft Wallet, only your device-specific device account number is suspended or removed, and you can continue to use your plastic cards normally, as long as you didn’t deactivate them.
