Unitus Sponsors The 2018 Portland Rose Festival

Portland, Ore., March 22, 2018 – Unitus Community Credit Union has announced it will be the Presenting Sponsor of the 2018 Portland Rose Festival.
This is the fourth consecutive year Unitus Community Credit Union is serving as Presenting Sponsor of the Portland Rose Festival.
“As a longstanding Portland institution dedicated to supporting hard-working youth in our communities, the Portland Rose Festival shares many common threads with our credit union,” said Laurie Kresl, Chief Marketing Officer of Unitus Community Credit Union and Rose Festival mentor. “The princesses are in for a one-of-a-kind experience and we are excited to be a part of it.”
Influential women from Unitus, including top executives, will provide one-on-one mentorship for the princesses.
Unitus mentors will give career advice, cultivate life skills and host a job shadow for their princesses, in addition to accompanying them on a trip to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital to tie blankets for patients later this spring.
As part of the sponsorship, Unitus will also host the princesses for a Financial Workshop preparing them to successfully navigate the budgeting demands they will soon face as they transition to college.
The workshop will take place in Unitus’ downtown Plaza location and will be led by Natalie Hough, Business Development Officer at Unitus.
The program will conclude on June 9, when one of the Princesses is crowned Rose Festival Queen.
Throughout the three-month intensive, Unitus mentors will witness the maturation of these young women and develop long-term friendships well beyond the close of the festival.
