Unitus Recognized with 2017 Corporate Philanthropy Award for Commitment to Community Support

Portland, Ore., October 18, 2017 – Unitus Community Credit Union has received a 2017 Corporate Philanthropy Award from the Portland Business Journal for their commitment to community support.
“While we focus our efforts on improving the financial well-being of our members each day, there are organizations making a difference in so many other areas of life for the people who need it,” said Unitus Chief Marketing Officer Laurie Kresl.
“We are fortunate to have strong relationships with so many outstanding nonprofit community partners and humbled to share this recognition with them. Your community is what you make it, and we want to make ours healthier, happier, and smarter about money.”
For decades, Unitus has cultivated community partnerships with local nonprofit organizations helping people in need across the Northwest.
These organizations contribute vital services including healthcare for sick children (Doernbecher Children’s Hospital), school supplies for underprivileged kids (Schoolhouse Supplies), stable housing for families (Good Neighbor Center), and much more.
Additional close community partners include Clackamas Service Center, Helping Hands, Share, SnowCap, and the Portland Rose Festival Foundation.
The award was announced at the Portland Business Journal’s Corporate Philanthropy Luncheon, an annual event celebrating community service and corporate support of local charities. Unitus President and CEO Steve Stapp accepted the award on stage on behalf of Unitus.
